Unveiled on July 12, the new 240-seat and 24 table poker room is the largest in the North West of England and one of the largest poker rooms in the United Kingdom. The new poker room will be a key destination for gamers and made available for private functions, regular cash games and private poker tuition. Of course, the new room will host a Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) festival as well as other national poker events.
To celebrate the reopening of the poker room, the G Casino Manchester on Bury new Road, is to host a number of tournaments that have at least £15,500 in unconditional guaranteed prizes every week throughout July.
It is not only the poker room that has benefited from the investment; the entire casino has been given an overhaul and now features the “Gold Room,” a private area for high stakes players. Also, 40-state-of-the-art slot machines and electronic games have been added to the casino’s existing offering.

Grosvenor Casino Bury New Road in Manchester plays host to the second leg of the 2016 Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) from Sunday 28 February through to Sunday 6 March and everything points towards it being an excellent week-long festival.
Most of the focus is on the £200,000 guaranteed 2016 GUKPT Manchester Main Event, which costs £1,000+£100 to buy into, but also grabbing plenty of attention is the addition of a £200+£20 buy-in Mini Main Event and its £20,000 guaranteed prize pool.

Dave “El Blondie” Colclough won the first-ever GUKPT Manchester Main Event in Season 1 when he topped a field of 285 players to claim the £88,300 top prize. Marc Goodwin emerged victorious in Season 2, followed by Kuljinder Sidhu, Peter McAdams, Lewis Hunter, Sunny Chattha, Rhys Jones, and most recently, the legendary Ali Mallu.
